Big Box + Big Power = ?

Same as me but im running a single db drive wdx 5k 12' in 3.2 cu net & tuned to 34hz running @2ohms.
Im pushed it with only 1500 watts and did a easy 149 on the meter sitting on the seat.

Not saying its loud, but it does the job compared to these multi speaker setups.
sounds pretty good to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

I thought he was talking gross. Personally I won't put a good 15 in less than 4.5 cubes.
oh i see..... man that would be a a really big box, i just have 2 sdc2.5 15s and im gonna be running them a bit over their rated power so i want smaller to help the control and the able to sub to handle the power better.

But yea i see that alot of people say like 4.5 cubes per 15. But then again i see people use 1 18 in 4 cubes net and it actually works out nicely. i guess it just depends on the app but idk

Oh really? That would be one hella score. Do you have it documented anywhere?

I dont compete, but ill be happy to snap a photo on next meter session around where i go..

Not hard to hit high 40's in small cabin space.

Wish i could hit that 160+db like one guy did with a single 10 dd sub :/

Please do. That's impressive no matter the cabin size. That was on a term lab right?

Thts wats up, not the first Iv heard go smaller with SQues. I cud try a 45x30x15 box an that'll set me 10" from rear door.
When they were Audioque, everyone I knew that ran them put them in smaller then recommended enclosures and they did great. These were all the HDC3 subs, but I dont see the HDS being completely different.

And hell, the chart on their website states as low as 3cuft for a single 15.

Ive always been a fan of the smaller boxes though anyway. Did 2 15s in a 6cuft and popped 150 with a 2kw amp. Did 2 12s in a 3.2cuft and popped 155 with a 4k. 2 18s in 8.5ish cuft doing 150+ from 35-50hz and the list goes on and on and on.

General rule of thumb is if you are underpowering your subs, go bigger, overpowering, smaller.

cant tell if his post is the meter is sitting on his seat or the sub is sitting on his seat, but either way, box is closer to the meter and much smaller cabin.

but anyway, before this gets off topic.... OP get building.

That's a SUV on 3500. Not a truck on 1500.
Bigger box with less power is the same as smaller box with big power..

If you read my post i mentioned the cab being smaller since the meter was on the dash and box was on the back seat.

Anyway all our posts should help the op and others on getting some intense bass.

Will do....I'm not rich so it'l take 2-3months, I'd have to wait for SQue to get restocked anyway. But I will start a build log, I'm getting 2 batts an HU in Aug. So it begins....
