Better Nightlife: Toronto or Montreal?

**** both location is 450+ miles away from me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. i might take a plane instead
10 hour drive isn't that big of a deal ... Leave at 6 to beat city traffic, get there around 3-5 PM //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I lived in Montreal for 4 years when I was doing graduate studies. Been to Toronto probably 3-4 dozen times, several times for 1-2 weeks at a time. And as a grad student you better believe that the Toronto nightlife was FULLY tested on each trip.

Absolutely no contest here IMO. If you're looking for nightlife, culture, nice people and just great fun, Montreal has Toronto beaten. T.O was fun (had to look for it though), don't get me wrong. And Toronto drivers are 1000x less psycho than those in Montreal. But it in no way compares to the open (read: very, very liberal) attitute of Montrealers.

First off, you don't need any French to get around in the heart of Montreal. The downtown (where 99% of all the excitement is) is completely bilingual. The eastern half of the island is francophone, but most francophones know enough English to communicate with you. Once you get downtown, you'll probably want to spend most/all of your time there anyway //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
