Best way to EQ bass/bass boost on headunit

My HU has 3 different ways of adjusting bass level (Subwoofer Level adjustment, Bass Boost adjustment, and Bass Level adjustment)... Can I use all of these together? Or should I pick one or the other? For example, if I leave my bass level eq on 2, with my mids at 1 and treble at 3 (from a -8 to 8 scale) and then turn the bass boost on level 1, will that do any harm to my speakers or sub?

For the record, I set my amp gains with everything flat/neutral on my headunit and at level 27 (35 is max), and with these new eq settings I wouldn't turn the HU up to nearly as loud as it was when I set the amp gains. Thanks
