best subs on a budget? (no sundown please)

Which one of those would you recommend for a JL 1000/1? Single sub set up is what I'm shooting for.

Man they are all really good. depends what you want to spend. they will take that amp daily. Im huge on consumer service Id go with the SA or IA. I didnt mention the IA lethal injection. that is a very good driver also.

I would do the 212s because I am not upgrading amps anytime soon. The sundowns are always an option.

An SSA ICON 15 would sound great and handle that power well. It's $35 over budget but the excellent quality of the sub and amazing customer service are well worth it. I think you'd be impressed with what a single larger sub would do compared to two cheaper 12s. The ICON would have more motor force making it more efficient and have less cancellation

I have an XFL right now but it just isn't what I thought.

What are your enclosure specs? They tend to like slightly larger enclosures. I had 2 XFL 12s in 4 cubes tuned at 33hz and it was very musical and still did respectable numbers.

and no sundown because I heard to many negative things about them, not willing to take a chance and buy some. I mean I don't think they are bad, I heard a guy with 2 zv4 18s in a 4th order. I was parked about 40 feet away from him and his bass was shaking my mirros at 31 hz. on music.

who did you hear negative things from? people that have no idea what they are doing probably, clipping the hell out of the subs using bass boost and such. Every sundown product is a quality product. If you run the equipment properly you shouldn't have any issues at all.
