best subs on a budget? (no sundown please)

that's kinda true cuz I have 1 15 in my corolla and it sounds louder on the low notes than my friend 4 type r 12s. to top it off its a cvr for crying out loud. and it shakes my cabinets, at 30 hz especially. that's the golden tone!!
He's certainly ding something wrong. There's a guy on campus running 2 Type Rs on a ****** Crunch amp and a prefab ported box and its comparable to my SA-12s on the higher notes. I crush him on the lower notes, but that because I'm tuned way lower.

May I ask why no Sundown?

And NoLoud4U brings up a good point about sizes/pairs.

yes they are in a sealed box in the trunk. I told him I can build him a box, take up all the trunk with a slot port firing in the cab. that's how mine is and it sounds so clean. no rattles no nothing just bass

Do you have it sealed of or just facing the cabin? Never mind. I don't have time to give you anymore hard times

and no sundown because I heard to many negative things about them, not willing to take a chance and buy some. I mean I don't think they are bad, I heard a guy with 2 zv4 18s in a 4th order. I was parked about 40 feet away from him and his bass was shaking my mirros at 31 hz. on music.

Few comments :

1) The newest Type-R is arguably one of the best mainstream drivers in that price range... I usually catch the engineer that designed it at CES every year. They have a flat BL curve (novel patented pole shaping technique), relatively linear suspension, inductance treatment (basket is built to also act as a shorting ring), etc.

2) I'd be interested to know what sort of negative things you have heard about Sundown as well. There are countless "haters" out there these days; the cost of being successful in the business I suppose.

3) If you want to stay "underground" -- the guys over at Incriminator make great stuff.

4) Is your budget of under $200 for the pair or per driver ? The Incriminator I-Series can be had for just over $200 in a pair.

Dunno what negative things you have heard also about sundown. Ive been very pleased with every product ive owned by that company. But if youre on a budget.

Soundqubed has a nice HDS line.

Sundown has the SD and SA line.

Aline type R

IA I series

SI Mags are coming back also.

Fi has the SSD line

AB XFLs

All those listed can be had for under 225.

Which one of those would you recommend for a JL 1000/1? Single sub set up is what I'm shooting for.

I am trying to find a pair of 12's that are within a 350 price range for the pair. It can be stretched if it is nice. It is going on a skar 1500. PM me what you guys think or quote me please.
