Best subs for trunk car

I am relatively new to the game and I wondered if there was a good idea on where to go with 10s or 12s? I can fit either but I have 5 cf of box space. What, if any, is a rule of thumb for sub diameter when using a trunk car?

Well there are people who go with subs as big as 15 inches in trunks. It all depends on how big your trunk is.

The basic rule is, if you can fit it and still have enough room to build an enclosure with the proper volume, then you are good to go. But I would never suggest fitting a larger size sub than you can build a decent sized enclosure for.

Also, we will need more info to help. Like what is your budget, and what are your goals out of your sound system. Do you want it loud, or to sound good, or loud and to sound good?

Looking for loud inside the car. I like the Pioneer SPL line, as I mentioned before. I have enough room for the 12s according to manufacturer's specs but I thought smaller may do better. For instance, they say you make kicker boxes bigger and they get louder so I thought other subs may be the same.

us the sub in your avatar and you will be loud as shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

they are not readily available new...

Do you think they will handle over 1k RMS?

5 cubes can easily fit almost any 15, or you could go with 2 12's if you want. 2 pioneer 3004spl's with 1200 watts on em each would wang

You think the 5102s are worth it? I found them a tad over $600 from onlinecarstereo.com
