150 is not easy to hit and then i read this:

so maybe its easier to hit those #'s in mecca versus dbdrag... (it appears to be that way)

All I know is it seems to take alot of watts and acouple of subs to hit those numbers... any sub with enough power can get loud (to stay on topic) but alot of people are using re subs (mt's)

yea, just 2 different ballgames. DBdrag is completely different than Meca... in just about every aspect.

I need some suggestions! Im fairly new to this car audio stuff and I currently bought the modded American Bass xD1800 amp it will put out 2000+ watts at 1 ohm....I would like to know which subs are good for me....I dont care about the metering crap I just wanna acheive to a level where you can hardly breathe in the car....I got a trunk car so maybe a 12" or 2 its mercedes c230 kompressor sedan.....please give me some advice......

massive amount of distortion aren't gonna come out of the box! lol

It plays long note stuff fine, but ew on anything punchy.

One crazy effeciant woofer @ the high notes though!

Idk about BREATHLESS ... but It should be loud(ish) If you've been in a car that leaves you breathless (like I have) believe me it will take more than 2 12's and 2k watts in a trunk

For me breathless is > 145.. friend had 2 15's on 5k (hatchback) doing almost 150 on the ac 190 (for me THAT was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif )

ok, i just read all of this, and i've got a few things to say...

1) james is 23rd in the WORLD, not the u.s. and getting louder everyday.

2)statement retarcted on account of audiolife...lmao...

3)cone area does matter. regardless of what u try to say, cone area makes a difference. i get ur point of choking off a trunk, and that makes sense. and in ur testing, ur theory is probably more then accurate. but for a daily driving setup, where the lows are really wanted (and the lower it plays, the louder it seems) cone area just can't be denied. also, with ur style of box,TBC or something, correct?, maybe that's the biggest difference. i mean, when ur charging $250 for one, it must be somethign special.

4)crx or stay outa street? james doesn't use a crx. nor, for the most part, does any team sweep member. james's explorer defeated several big name crx's last year. adn the name of the game in an explorer? cone area. of course, this is suv vs trunk, so different rules will apply.

oh, how do i know this? i work with james on almost a daily basis. i part time at the shop he full times at. i actually built a few of his boxes. and by finals, u'll see james and the rest of sweep throwing up alot better numbers...and a 151+ legal, with just one battery, car off. that isn't too shabby, now is it?

audiolife....where is the show this weekend? i need to get up that way and meet a few of u guys....i'm laid off, so it's not like i don't have the time...lol...
