Best single subsetup for SPL

Also is there anyway to use less than 60% of the width and still use 2 drivers successfully
if your trunk is plenty wide... or if you have a very tall trunk... sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But generally a box that is 16" wide is about all your gonna get, which will only house one 15 with the subs next to eachother (works best nearly always).

Wrong.
You take 1 15" L7 and put it into the trunk, then take 2 12" L7s and put it into the same trunk, the 2 12" are going to be louder regardless of trunk size.

Oh yeah, your 151.9 is BS. If you really were doing a 151.9 you'd be tied with James Herren #23 in the world for Street A. He ranked #1 last year. You should go for a drive to Harrisburg and listen to his car. Maybe compare notes rofl.

you are more than welcome to call BS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif That setup did a 149.6 on the dash... 151.9 iin the kick. Didnt' do any tuning for the dash because I don't do drag.

Which btw... look at this years street A scores, 151.9 aint shyte.... lol. Btw, 152.8 won him finals last year... this year that probably won't come close.

how can you say what will be louder without testing? If you are jamming the 2 12's in there, your screwed... same with the 15 for that matter. I'd be willing to bet the 15 would have more potential than the 2 12's in a great majority of trunks with a rear firing setup. If you want to fire in... 2 12's is the way to go 99% of the time.

Not saying *every* trunk will be louder with one 15, just throwing out my rule of thumb regarding trunks... if you have to stuff the box, don't build it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You say it will only house a 15, but then you mention that the subs wll be next to each other...

so you mention only one sub but then talk about more subs...

huh 151.9 "aint shyte" ??? Go check the stats. 151.9 is currently the 23rd loudest SPL recorded this year (2005) in Street A. I am guessing since you haven't heard 150DBs that you consider it weak but really, 150 on the new Termlabs is 158+ on the old termlab.. Its ****nn loud. You wouldn't be able to breath.

Also, reread my post. I have tested. I have actually owned 10 or 11 different sub setups.

Please stop suggestion nonsense to these innocent people looking for good advice.

wow... 23rd.... thats, yea...

I speak in terms of top notch competing... not number 23, lol.

My setup breaks a 150 at the *headrest*.... now, i'd like to ask you if you have ever heard that before???

Unless otherwise noted... all my scores are on the termlab SENSOR... I own one and I use it daily...

Please stop confusing me with someone new to the game, I know how to get loud, and I've made some nasty setups in the past. 150db isn't that hard... I've broken it many times with various equipment.

10 or 11 different setups, suppose that makes ya a car audio guru now? I do 5-7 "setups" every week... I've built a massive amount of boxes over the years, and I've spent countless hours testing all different sorts of designs. I've tried every setup you can have in a trunk... over and over with various woofs and box designs.

Flat out... if you choke off your trunk, you just killed your number. Thats why people say a trunk isn't loud... because people stuff too much in there!

I'd really like to hear legitimate and consistent tests that show stuffing a trunk is louder... everything I have done shows quite the opposite.
