Best single subsetup for SPL

The decibel is a worldwide, internationally-recognized unit. Otherwise, engineers and sound technicians from other countries wouldn't be able to communicate in any sort of language that made sense...not like they do anyway //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

If you're using an IASCA-recognized meter, than the score is comparable.

I think 115 dBl is a pretty good score. 115dBa would be a good score, too. 115dB is, well, something even *I* could do, so if that's all you're hitting, you need help. =)

Like I said before, something's wrong with that...because most competent single 12" installs will do 125+ on the Termlab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
125 isnt even competant.

if you arent doin a 130 your doin something wrong.

Spkrman let me get your opinion on something...

In my trunk, I could fit a box up to 9 cf.

However, I can not fit a 15 unless it is firing upwards...

So in YOUR opinion would 1 12 firing backwards still be better than 1 15" firing upwards?

I have just heard that firing upwards is not good for a trunk system...

Why not just make the box have an angled slant for a 15. Kinda like a wedge style enclosure. The more your front piece is angled, the more surface area you will have. Get what I am saying? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I did not understand the second part fo that statement...

but then again, I think I am just retarded today

I'm laughing here listening to the statement of 1 15" being louder then 2 12" in a trunk install assuming they are in equally HQ enclosures.. Soooooo untrue.

There is no replacement for displacement.

Personally, I've had 1 12" IDQ, 2 12" IDQs, 1 12" PG TI, 1 Type R 10", 1 Powerbase Xtreme 15", and 2 Kicker 10" L7s. All ported rear facing in ideal enclosures. Guess what was loudest? the 2 10" L7s. And guess what? It was also the largest enclosure of all of them. It consumed the entire trunk...

Don't believe me? Ask Mike Stiers.. The king of trunk installs.
