Best single subsetup for SPL

he said one 12 not 2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I was referring to this post below:

If this statement is true then the theory of 1 12 being louder than a single 15 false, because as my previous posts explained 2 12's need more air than a single 15.

what I'm saying is

properly installed, in a majority of trunks one 12 will be louder than a single 15... yes BOTH properly installed.

if 2 12's are louder than a single 15 setup.. or a single 12 setup... or a quad 12 setup... its all in the install, nothin else.

What's a dBl?

Is that like the "A" scale, only now it's the "L" scale...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

And 115dB? Is something wrong with it?

a Dbl ( decibel ) is a measure of how much acoustic pressure is created inside the car by the sonic output radiating from the speakers cone without harmonic distortion exceeding 1.5%

I think you mean a dB; that's the proper notation for a decibel. Or, if you use a weighted scale for the entire audible bandwidth, dBA (this is the "A" weighted scale). And it has nothing to do with THD+N numbers.

115 Dbl is good by my standard for one 12" sub
In most competitions, a score of 115dB will get you a re-try, because something's wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i never entered competition with my car.

we just tested it at the store with the IASCA SPL note and it clocked 115dB with 0.8% THD.

For comps we use the MTX Thunder 9500's.

Like I said before, something's wrong with that...because most competent single 12" installs will do 125+ on the Termlab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
