best deadener?

Best deadener...

To me, this has always been somewhat of a paradox. First of all, most people look to sound deadeners to rid their vehicle of rattles. In that case, almost anything that takes up some of the tolerances between clips & panels will do the trick. Other people look to sound dampeners to lower road noise. If that's the case, most of it will be going on the floor anyway so sticking isn't a huge issue.

And here's where I get a bit confused; the best sound deadening usually is rather expensive. Spending $3-400 isn't out of the question. While it does make a difference and often does as it's advertised to do, my beef is that you can't take it with you. Call me cheap but spending a couple hundred bucks on something I cannot remove from one vehicle and place in another is an investment I'm hesitant make. That's important to me, it may not be to you. With that in mind, if I deaden anything I use the Home Depot/Lowe's stuff and take extra care with prep work. It makes a difference for the better and I have not had any horror stories with the stuff. Its performance more than justifies its price. I just can't see spending so much $$$ again on Dynamat, or the like, and leave it in the vehicle.

I use fat mat and it has worked very well for me for over 2 years. Shows no signs of peeling off heck you couldnt even if u wanted to. The smell went away in a matter of days but I am a smoker so that might have something to do with it. Nonetheless it did its job and It did it on the cheap..

for the floor and rear quarters i prefer liquid dampener such as cacade. it works better than any mat cause full coverage and is easy to apply and looks great.
Im interested in trying some of this stuff wanna post a link for some good liquid deadner.

I think he means, you've never used AudioTechnix but you put it down at every opportunity. And you said you can't comment on stuff you've never used.
I havn't put it down, I simply said second skin is better. Trust me if I was to put it down I wouldn't sugar coat it.

Well played, sir. I enjoy your other forums, but it does seem that the topics involving deadener seem biased.
They do here to though. It's not as bad as SSA forums are though. You want to laugh go check out some post there, I doubt even the JL forums are as bad.

Yup, totally true. 155% biased on there. They need to have multiple vendors that are not sold on the store present, multiple competing brands in the same market segment, along with moderators and big time posters that prefer and suggest other items that are not sold or related to that forum, heck even admins that suggest products they have no affiliation with based on experience. Because a forum with so many different voices of experience, brands available and varying installation types would never be even be as remotely biased as a singular brand dedicated forum

Oh wait.....
