I need some info from some competitiors.

i have our finals coming up and i have to do a outside stand. ive done it before but

idk whats works better. I played a song at about 42hz. is better to play a higher bass song

or a song thats moving alot air? just wondering what would do better in yal's opinion...

thanks in advance

idk know about my peak. ive skipped around with freqs. my best scores have come at 42hz. however i can hit the same numbers at 54hz....

idk y its like thats but it is. but anyway i figured lower songs thats move air would do better because its outside tho

then find a song that plays low 40hz music then and that will probably be your loudest. now was that peak what your current box peaks at or is that where your box peaks at? there is a difference

Are you saying something like a park and pound?
thats what i was thinking. but its not meca, iirc he competes at a local competition type deal

I would expect some things to change a bit once you roll down your window(s) and open the enclosure that is the cab of the vehicle.

When you take readings with the car sealed up, the subs are working to compress the air in the cab of the vehicle. The volume of that air and the reaction of the car's interior, (flexing etc) could make your car peak at a different fq than it would once the windows come down and the subs start interacting with air beyond the car. Heck the size and shape of the window opening could "pass" some fq's better than others.

It's possible, that the car's peak with the windows up will be ~the same as with them down, but it's not a given.

I would get a radio shack SPL meter and test with the meter where it's going to be in the contest. Try to keep the vehicle away from reflective structures that might introduce some gain into the mix. An open parking lot far away from a structure is how would test.

Godd luck.
