Best Cities/Places in the USA to Live????

I have lived in Denver CO, Salem OR, Southern NH, and Northern Utah. Colorado Springs has been my favorite by quite a stretch, I'd move there. Yet if your a hippie, or love green things and don't mind the rain the willamette valley in oregon is hard to beat... Stay away from Utah and the east coast...

What's good for you is completely up to you. At the moment I live in Lexington, KY but I've also lived in Valencia (Venezuela), Miami, Orlando, and Washington DC for a short time. On top of that, I've visited basically every significant US city east of the Mississippi and my favorites are Chicago, New York, St Louis, Nashville, and Atlanta. Each place has its own identity and whether or not its a good place for you will remain a mystery until you see for yourself. I'm not trying to burst anyones bubble here, but since I started travelling at 16, I've learned that car audio, rims, etc, don't really mean shit to me. Now I read more, I have more things that interest me, and I enjoy going to school to actually learn.

I don't really know where I'm going with all this... The only advice I have for you is "stop wishing and start doing!" Save some $$ up and just take off and see what you like. Stay away from tourist/resort areas because they're all the same.

Florida is great if you like water sports or nature... went fishing in Port Lucie yesterday with my girlfriend and had the time of our lives.

It's not so much where you are as much as it is your attitude that counts.

Get a beautiful girlfriend and you will not care where you are... I forget where I am every night! If you can't beat them, join them!

Cant offer much advice about US cities, but if you ever think of Canada, I wouldnt go anywear but some place in BC. The Okanagan Valley is amazing. I know i miss it.
I totally agree.. Winnipeg is about the worst place in the world to live.. I grew up there and don't ever wish to go back.. BC, on the other hand, is the best place I've ever lived and don't ever see myself leaving the OK Valley, ever.. We got it all here..

Hey man I know how it is. I am from Ohio too and not 50 mins from ya. I have been to Kent many times as I had an ex girl that went to school up there. It is more a party town than anything. Drink, study, get laid and start over the next day. I mean the really isnt anything there if your not that type of person. I like where I live for the most part, but it helps being a loner, lol! I have lots of things to keep me busy I suppose. I would check out Florida. I lived down there for 6 months and wasnt bad, just too many tourists and man it was hot down there. I might complain about our weather with the humidty, but florida's weather blows. We are lucky, lol! I think if I ever decided to pick up and move I would head to Colorado. Or maybe Wyoming. I told you, I am a loner. lol!

954runner, i'm shocked you'd put SA over Austin being from Tx. I only say that as living in ATX i'd never leave this place unless a job was offered. I've lived in LA, San Diego, and Dekalb IL and have travelled to many places b/c of my dad's job. Summer vacations FTW:D. I'd say Austin is my favorite place to be, relaxed city, growing audio and auto fanatics, low crime, and of course if you are into the night scene, 6th st is good for anything really.

My vote is ATX, San Diego, then Denver as it's just nice there.

I'm biased because I've lived in Boston for most of my life, but honestly this city has an amazingly ecclectic social scene. You can literally drive for 5 miles in any direction from its center and pass through anywhere from 2-10 distinct social climates. Nomatter if you are into car audio, punk rock, or ****in dungeons and dragons you will find likeminded people if you look hard enough.

People are a lot less "airy" and don't suffer from the extreme lack of grounding that say, people from San Fran area frequently do. We get all four seasons, parties constantly that you can pretty much wander into off the street and make some friends, and some beautifuls--if sometimes visually cacophonic--scenery. Cynicism is pretty widespread, but its a thin shell that encases people...a sort of socially evolutionary trait meant to enhance percieved strength.

I dunno, I never seem to stop meeting interesting people. Whether I talk to a homeless drunkard on a saturday night or a feminist with a phd in a coffee shop I always seem to find myself growing stronger from the thoughts of those around me. It's a beautiful feeling.

As for your restlessness, I think most people have that wonderlust. The knowledge that life is ticking by as you concern yourself with trivial details lights a napalm fire over anyones proverbial ***. The only ones who don't feel this hunger, this passion for life are those who have completely given in and accepted the routine as inevitability. Something beyond them. Their parents worked until they died, hard and bitter, and they are intent to follow in their footsteps. It's a morbid tradition.

There is always more. And life seems to reward those bold enough to find it.

Good luck to you.
