I heard that in order to expand the lifetime of your system, you have to send a nice clean signal to your amp whenever you are running it, that means no "loud" option turned on on your radio if you have one, no treble, mid or bass turned up for your radio either, is this true? also, i got a bx1500d powering two kicker 12" L7's and i was wondering what settings can i chane around to get the most bass out of my subs without blowing them or my amp, and also about the break-in procedure, how long does this take on two L7's? also is it ok if i turn my remote bass knob all the way up? or should i wait to turn stuff up after i break them in?

yes, a clean signal is almost a must

dont turn the remote bass knob up, maybe a third but no more

yes dont turn loud on

u can adjust the treble/mid bass/bass without harming anything (assuming u do it responsibly)

I dont believe in break in, nothing like giving a fresh sub 2500watts right out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yea lol thx man but this is my first system can u also tell me what level you think is good to turn my radio up to? its a kenwood mpv-8025, max volume is 35, u usually play it with bass at 0 treble at 0 and mid at 0 at volume 20-23, what do you think is the safest i can go up to? maybe 30?

The loud option affects the clarity of the signal that is sent to the amps, therefore clipping is more likely. and clipping destroys audio equipment.
Thanks, I have been lurking and searching and trying to learn as much as I can. I am a rookie at all this.

my alpine deck will sound dry as hell with the MX completly shut off. I usually have it at level 2 or 1. But level 3 definatly gives off an unnatural sound and distorts everything. As for the bass and treble, they are always at 0 or less. Maybe buying an external eq would help me with this...

alpines are funny from what ive read, the MX isnt a "loud" but more of like a deck tuning (dont quote me though)
