maybe a kicker compvr in the right enclosure. might be too much power for it. pioneer 3002spl's, kicker l5, all can be had on ebay for less than 200 each

Just narrow your search down to all 12" subs, then sort by price and see what ya find.

The Dayton DVC can be had for like $120 plus shipping. It is a dual 8 ohm coil; wire it to 4 ohms. It is rated for 650 watts. You should be just fine with that amp.

What size/tuning is your enclosure????

That would be helpful to know. Post pix if possible.

I don't have any specs on the box... I bought it prefab. from some audio place on Canal St. and although I don't know anything about enclosures, I think it's good enough to use for my next sub, whatever it may be.

I will measure the box ASAP, but in the meantime, can someone clear this up for me?

Will I FRY a 1222D Type R w/ the amp I have?

Someone recommended the Type X, but I think:

a) I'll Underpower it

b) Too expensive

c) Not practical for daily driving

So until I measure the box and get some more ideas, Type R it is!

'05 Type R's are rated at 750wrms. Your amp will put out ~800wrms. I doubt you'll fry it unless you are clipping it.

Can I get some proof on the Type R rating? I wanna show it to someone, but they'll be skeptical.

Hah, nevermind about the 750wrms. I was thinking about the 15's - they're 750wrms. The 12" Type R's are 500wrms.

Type X's only come in dual 4 ohm vc's, so that wouldn't work for you anyways.
