Battery to get

Don't cheap out on an alternator. If you want cheaper look into Mechman. But they are cheaper for a reason.
Are you wanting a replacement battery? If so what size is your stock battery? Or are you looking to add a rear battery? If so look into the Duracell AGM G31s at Sams Club or Juicebox Blackcherry G31 online.
SO would you say 400$ for the DC alt is a good deal? ive never had to buy one before, let alone a HO one, and the battery is going to be my starting one as well, dont know the size becuase the optima site had me enter my make and model

What vehicle are we talking about? That would help us figure out the best route to go for you.

EDIT: Just saw you said 03 outback.

DC power has a 180 amp 6 phase hairpin for $390. 120 amp at idle

Now check with Mechman, Singer, and Excessive Amperage and compare specs and prices.

Hopefully cheaper than the 400 DC 130 alt. But im willing to spend a pretty penny, same battery wise. Im just rying to save some cash, pushing 1600-2000k subs and 125 x 4 to speakers
The only one i see for either engine in that model car from dc is 389$ for 180 amps.

If ypu could get the 250 amps for 579$ or talk to singer.

Or cheaper alts but good quality then talk to Js ultimate alts on facebook.

To OP im looking for better battery so im along side you as i have a oreilys agm group 34 and it seems to die to fast when i tried it with a single 105 amp alternator. Tried a friends northstar battery and it lasted way long with same alternator.

Quad alternators ***** when daily driving due to belt slip and more work to keep running.

i dont own one im just looking into it, i liked the yellowtops but read some forums that say they arent good for car audio, and the alt. is just expensive and im heard i can go pretty cheap. Vehicle is 03 outback subaru
I've seen a few 160dB guys who claim the yellow tops are great batteries. Of course their marketing isn't as slick as some of the forum boner batteries, but they're solid. I'd also vouch for the sears platinum die hard. Very reasonably priced for what it is, the best warranty in the business AND you don't need to mess around with some online company to do returns... just walk into any Sears and plop it on the counter.

I've had good luck with Excessive Amperage alternators myself. IMO stick with a reputable brand with good customer service. I expect a lot of it is hype and fanboys these days.
