Battery smells funny

I installed a XS power super bank (Capacitors) to my setup and I have the positive coming off my factory battery, ground in the trunk along with the super bank, but after driving the car for awhile the battery has a electrical smell too it, is it not good to have the super bank hooked up to the factory battery or am I missing something? Or should the battery be changed? The voltages are normal 14 volts while idling the factory battery and capacitor sits at 14 volts, while the car is off the battery sits at 12 volts and the capacitor at 14.

Does it get hot?
Does not feel hot at all that’s what I don’t understand.. but it’s not an egg smell it’s more of an electrical smell and everything is tight and bolted down good. I have a XS power bank 500 farad in the trunk in line with the battery, then another 4 gauge wire running to the amp from the super bank, which everything runs good, no dimming lights or anything. Just the weird smell from the factory Honda battery itself, it’s a 2021 Honda civic EX-L

I wanna say it smells like the battery acid honestly that’s the smell I’m getting I don’t understand why?

Is there a possibility that the battery could be charging at 15 volts or more? That would boil the electrolyte and vent fumes.
doesn’t seem that way because even idling the car it smells the same way, I will drive it and hook the voltage meter up to it and see if it jumps up higher but for the most part I’ve never seen it go past 14.5

If I do find out I have an over charge problem what can I do to fix that? I’m gonna install my Honda hack back on the radio and it’ll show me the voltage while I drive and I’ll let you know, thanks a bunch I appreciate it

This is the very reason in the 90’s we deducted points if your interior batteries were not vented to the outside.

Inhaling sulfuric acid vapors or mists can cause severe respiratory irritation and damage to the mucous membranes. Prolonged inhalation may be harmful.

If you can pop the tops off and check if fluids low in the inside of Battery

But it's not only H2SO4 vapors that can be released, flooded Lead/Acid batteries release Hydrogen, which is very combustible.

Be VERY careful if it's venting. Had a battery explode two feet from me due to fumes being ignited by an ignition coil strategically factory-mounted next to the battery.

Not a fun event.
