battery question

my sony amp has a blue light.

i guess this light always stays on... will it drain my car's battery?

Is your remote wire hooked up to the wire that only gets power when the key is turned on? Or one that has power even when the key is off?

I've never had a sony amp, But all other amps I have had if the light is on the amp is on. So my concern is you have the remote on a steady hot wire that isn't letting it shut off and I would be just as concerned about that than the battery.

does anyone know what i should do? Because my battery is fully dead now, but im not sure if its because of my new amp or just because my battery is dead.

Any ideas? there is a blue light that stays on the amp 24/7 im not sure what to do.

Your remote turn on wire is run to a constant hot source. You need to rewire the remote turn on lead to a remote turn on from your head unit, if your using a stock head unit then wire it to a fuse that turns on when you crank your car. That blue light should only be on when the amp is on. So if you kill the car the amps blue light should go off.

no its not stock, its a sony head unit.

so whatts the easiest way to do all that? i have to take out my headunit and everything?

Yes you will need to take out your headunit and run a wire from the remote turnon lead from the headunit, it should be a bluewire with a white stripe but they might have a diff color on the sony, but I doubt it. Look at the wire diagram for your headunit. Then run the remote turnon lead to your remote switch on the Sony Amp. This will make the Amp only turn on when you turn on the headunit. It will turn off when you kill the car or turn off the headunit. I hope this helps and good luck

The easiest way is to just run it to a fuse in the fuse box but I would not do it. I would do it the right way and be done. Which means taking out the head unit

Do you have another amp in the car?

Or only the Sony?

If another one, just run remote wire from that and see if it goes off with key turned off

i only have 1 amp... i have a 460 watt dual amp sitting around but idk how to run a setup with 2 amps
