Battery or Alt

The two in the rear do. Don't count starter since it's not taking the big hits.
Gotcha man so one or two d3100's and a 3400 in the rear should be fine for a saz-4500 as long as im not sitting at idle for a long time? I was also looking at the new crescendo batteries that say one of them in the rear can properly supply a 5k setup. Ive always heard 55ah per every 1k wrms but idk I dont know too much about batts and what to look for. Thanks for the help its actually helping me a lot!

I had a buddy with a 300 amp alt and 2 dekas in the back with an saz 4500 at .5 ohms and never dropped below 13.6 idle.

Space, connections, cable, gas mileage. It all adds up. This is why people say you need 3 big batteries for 5000 watt setups. No you don't.
You're not going to notice a difference in gas mileage and if you honestly believe that 2 batteries versus 1 will you're a ******* idiot. Wire and connections are negligible cost difference. Especially if you make homemade aluminum bus bars that are cheap cheap from lowes.

Nice i have a singer 320 6 phase hairpin alt and ill be wired at one 1 ohm so i should be good with the dekas

You don't think every 100+ pounds you add to the back of a car affects gas mpg.. And everyone can make buss bars.
So you're telling me if someone rides in your car with you you're going to have a noticeable drop in gas mileage? Adding two Dekas or even two D3100s which are heavier isn't going to have a noticeable impact. Now if you're running 100+ pounds in both subs and box with 200+ in batteries then yea you might notice a difference, but it won't be bad.

I'd still like to hear how one d3100 is as good as two deka 9a31's
XS Power and Odyssey (sp?) batteries are the best on the market. The XS Power is better then the Deka... ie less voltage drop, holds voltage longer, and built better. But these differences aren't major, especially if you have the car running. With it off the XS will take a decent advantage, but i doubt you'll be demoing with it off.

But still, 2 Dekas are cheaper than a D3100 and will outperform it. Yea its more weight, a few bucks in connections but still cheaper, much cheaper. I would say a D3100 is equal to 1.5ish Dekas.

Thanks man!

It's either 4 dekas or two xs's really
I do not know what the prices are for Dekas around you, but I know here I could get 4 new Dekas for around $460 shipped to my door or around $320 lightly used and picked up. Whereas 2 D3100s would cost me well over $700 new and shipped (not sure on used prices).

I can't personally speak for XS Power batteries, I mean they're obviously hella good batteries, but I love my Deka. I got it used from a buddy and its quite stout. Grant it I'm not straining it nor my 275 amp alt...

Just for the record I have tested and played with soo many different batteries its unreal

for daily driving you will not notice a difference in a Deka, XS power, Northstar, Powerware, C&D, etc. If both batts are of same age, group size, and conditions. I have pulled and tested this theory many many times.

As far as Competition use the Northstars and XS power get the slight nod, but they are very close to everything else (within tenths of each other on burps) There have been a few guys post vids of this exact thing.

So for what its worth 1 deka 9a31= 1 xs power d3100 in a daily setup. Unless you are competing and every tenth counts no need to spend that kind of money on a batt just for the name.
