Battery Brains I could use your insight Plz

All I can tell you is this, having put video systems in RV's and upgrading their batteries to new replacements EVERY single one had a vented battery box and IT was looked over by a mechanic to make sure the tube was right before it left the lot (which it was). An RV is much larger and opened space than a car or an suv. I would imagine that it had something to do with safety issues with insurance and such, much the same as using proper fusing . Some will tell you not to do it. If you get an electrical fire any insurance place that knows wtf they are doing will not cut a check without knowing who did the improper install to IN TURN go after that person. Same thing more than likely can be said for proper ventilation for a flooded battery. When I put mine in back in the early 90's we had to at least have a tube to the outside of the car from the box the battery was in. Otherwise when scored they would call it a saftey hazzard and deduct install points.

Aren't RV batteries located in a small, sealed enclosure underneath the cabin itself?

Then yes, obviously it would have to be vented.

Look, to put this to rest, NOBODY put a normal non-sealed battery in your car. It can potentially cause an explosion. I'll take the risk because I know what it takes to have a non-sealed battery in the cabin, most people probably wouldn't take the proper precautions though. Adding a battery box is usually a bigger hassle than just buying a sealed battery from the start.

some were actually in under/in a bench seat/bed on the interior..If it was not an issue why would they put them just anywhere or just tap a hole in a compartment without the full box?

Bish you must not know much about batteries then. Normal flooded batteries expel hydrogen and oxygen gas every time they are charged. Not over charged. Every charge. Therefore, one little spark and you get a fire. If you don't see why that is a hazard, you might want to rethink living.
WRONG. Flooded batts ONLY expel hydrogen when there IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGING SYSTEM.

That is why all of the cautions that you claim is 'proof' states that it MAY expel hydrogen. These days companies will caution for everything no matter how slim the chances are.

Under normal conditions it does not leak any dangerous amounts. Stop spreading bad info.

I am an ase certified master tech and you are 100% correct. there is no insurance laws or rules that make it so they dont have to pay either otherwise 1/2 the semi's on the road wouldn't pass a dot inspection as 90% of them have 4 - 10 batterys in a sealed box with no vents and the terminals carry so much current that they constantly wear out from arcing.

for 1 competition you can safely use the batteries in the manner you want.

hey also go check out nhra drag racing rules for safety on battery placement. it has to be mounted in the trunk of a car dude, hmm isnt a trunk sealed? and they dont require venting in the trunk either wow thats odd?

if you are going to say someone is wrong then have facts not propaganga or false rhetoric.

yes there is a chance it can explode if a high voltage spark comes in contact with any large amount of expelled gassing, but there is also a chance you take it in the *** but we aren't commenting about that are we?
