Batt Install Question???

A local shop installed a mono amp and an extra battery in my trunk. I had a 4 channel already wired from my stock bat, which is also in the trunk. They installed the mono amp utilizing the stock batt, then ran 1/0 off the stock batt to the new batt. My question: should they have ran the mono amp off the new battery since the 4 channel was already ran of the stock batt? My lights are dimming, and I can't turn the volume up at all, B/C of low voltage. I was thinking of just running some 2/0 from the alt to the new batt, would that help? Is this a proper installation?

How many watts & what type of battery & alt?
roughly 2300 watts @ 1 ohm, but my amp is seeing 2 ohms now so about 18=1900. I bought the largest duralast Gold Bat I could at autozone, for temporary use. Alt is stock, 160 amp, 100 - 110 at idle (500 rpm).

from what ive read recently on here, the (assuming this is what you have) chargers have problems like that. you should probably run 1/0 or 2/0 from alt back to the batteries. thats the issue, its not which battery the amp is connected too, they are so close its really not going to make a difference. you need to get the alt to charge those batts back there with all the extra pull you have now with a system. make sure the batteries in the back are properly grounded with 1/0 as well, straight to the frame. and ground your alt, or engine block with 1/0 to the frame. that will complete your Big 3

There is stock 1/0 welding wire running for the alt to the stock bat, and 1/0 ran from the stock bat to the new bat, but both amps are running off the stock bat. Now amps are directly hooked up to the new bat.

and you said they ran from the stock bat. to the new bat. to the amp? and is the power from stock bat. to the alt.?and is what ga.?

thats how it should be dont..unless the car you have like the other guy said just has problems like that... i really dont know bro..sorry i couldnt help ya:( the only thing you could do is get more batts or bigger wire?

That is not going to help you one bit. That is a flooded battery. That is not even a deep cycle battery at that. What happened to the idea of getting that HC3800?
