Batcap questions - Someone help?

For anyone who is out there who knows anything about batcaps, I have a question for you. I'm putting together a system with a yellowtop plus a batcap, but I need some help. What are the differences between these two?

Is the first one an actual battery, and the second one a capacitor, so to speak, or what? Would the first one REPLACE my battery under the hood? Help? Thanks

yea thats the way I understand it. The first model is more of their battery line up. I guess you sould replace it with your front battery but there are probably a lot better choices to replace your battery with that one. The second one would be considered a cap.

Well, I was considering(more orless) a yellow top and the second one for a bat(cap)...

the 800 is like 50%batt 50% cap. the 400 is like 30%batt 70% cap. iirc

they are both batteries. the 400 uses smaller cells with ultra low esr while the 800 is a "bigger" battery with higher esr but with alot more amp hours (reserve) behind it.

Well nonetheless, a Batcap400 and a yellowtop wouldnt tide me over just fine???

that i dont know. its one of those try it and tweak if needed things. its not a bad set up to use though but to say its a hundred percent what you need i cant say. all i can say is try it and go from there. need to know what amp you are really going to use. big jump from a 1200 to a 2500.

I agree. I'm sure (soon enough) that I'll need a better Alt, but for now it's all I can do for a Big3(assuming I'm intelligent enough to read the tutorials lol), 400 and a yellowtop

it is easy to do the big 3 in most cars although the honda might take a bit to do it is still easy. too put things in perspective for daily driving 2000 total watts gets a group 31 size battery with a solid alt at least.
