Basic troubleshooting help

I had this professionally installed because I didn't feel like tearing my car apart.

Memphis 12" 15-M312D4

Pioneer GM-D8500M - 600 rms mono

Morel Maximo 6.5" 2 way front components

Kenwood KAC-829 2 channel for the fronts

Pioneer AVIC-6100NEX (insurance replacement/free upgrade thanks to some thieves)

4 ga. wiring from battery to trunk, distribution block 4 ga. to two amps

We had some bad weather the past couple of weeks and my car isn't exactly the most watertight vehicle on the road (not that it's bad but it could be better). I heard a few pops or loud pop-like noises from the sub, seemingly on the signal line, and a week later it's stopped outputting sound completely. The fuses in the distribution block looked fine (just a quick visual inspection) but I wanted to ask what I should look for, where and what kind of measurements I should get on the multimeter, just what to troubleshoot in what order. I'm kind of new to this but I am an adult and in law school, and I'd like to think of myself as technically proficient, if undereducated.

Anything I've left out, obviously, you'll ask for.

Should have been more clear, but the head-unit and other speakers work, just not the sub. Please post troubleshooting ideas I can do before I take it back to the shop.

Take it back to the shop. Could be remote wire or RCAs or head unit

Any other ideas? Where should I measure what with my multimeter? I'd like to learn more about this hobby.
