Bandpass -vs- Sealed Enclosure

Hey all!! I would like some opinions on this one. What would be better for sound quality?? Bandpass or sealed enclosure?? I have 4 Boston Pro 12's and want to get a box. Thanks for the input!!

simple ported has far mor advantages than either bandpass or sealed. unless you really know what you're doing or know somebody who does, bandpass boxes are usually peaky and noisy.

yeah NO BANDPASS! , if u want the SQ and dont care about SPL then go with a sealed but if u want better SPL go with a ported unless u dont have enough room ( like me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif )

Thanks guys, i have made up my mind im gonna build a sealed box. I was thinking about making a down-fire box, anyone have any exp. with that??

You mean inverted? Or the sub fires down within the box?

Bandpass boxes are ok for certain applications...generally though if you dont know exactly what your doing they turn out bad.

yeah downfiring the subs would work very well
