Baffel problem

I have finaly put in the bostons in the forn to of my car, but the plastic speaker baffels rattel from the presure created, i cut a rectandular hole in one as a quick fix, but im thinking that there is a particular hole size and shape that i should make.

My question is what should i do about the rattling baffels, and please don't say get rid of them, b/c i want to protect my speakers.

I think you cut your baffles too small. Why did you make them a square? I would have used the old speaker pod and cut the baffle the same size. Just take the old speaker baffles and trace the outline on a piece of cardboard. Cut it out and test fit it. If it is a good fit, use that as a template for your baffles. Are you sure it is the baffle that is rattling and not something else in your door? Some deadner might take care of this problem as well. I would deadend the door and then make a correctly sized baffle for the speaker. Hope this answer's your quesion.

I don't know the name for this, its the name that was used when i purchased it, im guessing it has a different name, so please let me know what it is, so i don't continue to make an *** out of myself.

Hmm, I guess I was thinking the wrong thing as well. Okay, those things are cheap, so ofcourse they are going to make noise. Find a tupperwear bowl that is around that size. Lay a light layer of fiberglass inside the bowl. Once the resin dries, pop it out of the bowl by twisting the bowl to release it. Once the form is made, fiberglass your newly made "enclosure" onto the wooden baffle you cut. Then add a few more layers to it. That will produce the results you are looking for. Hope this helps!

I've used those in quite a few different installs and never had any audible noise result from their usage. Which part exactly is making the noise? The rear? Or up front around where the speaker mounts?

I'm appreciate the help (i can't spell) , just wondering will fiberglass let the air pressure be realeased through it or not, b/c thats my current problem And the second thing is that i've never fiberglassed before.

the front, and i will be honset, the speaker does not fit in the enclosure properly, the speaker is about 1 or 2 mm bigger than the opening, and therefore the preasure is being released through there.

how do i make a large spearker fit in the smaller inclosure:

1- should i make a slit in the side so that the speaker fits,

2- buy a foam enclosure ( My last resort)

3- Make a hole in the rear to allow the pressure to escape??
