First REAL install...

Hey guys,

I will be doing my first amp and full speaker install in the next few weeks and I have a quick question about wiring. The amp is an ARC Audio KAR 400.4, which will be putting out around 200-300 watts. For now, that's the only amp I'm going to have, because I haven't bought anything for the subwoofer yet. I would like to run only one wire through the firewall for this amp and any future sub amps. I'm going to estimate that a sub amp I get in the future will not exceed 600 watts. So my questions are:

1) Which size wire should I be using?

2) How do you properly calculate the required fuse amperage?

3) What's a good (but not really expensive) way to hook the wire up to the battery? I have seen a couple of sophisticated looking ring terminals, but can I just use a plain-jane one?

Thanks,

Brian

1) run a ummm 4awg

2) a fuse within 12" of the battery, use wat ever fuse is required for ur current amp

3) i used a ring terminal, think it costed like 2bux if that

then all u need is a distro block, takes that 4awg in the trunk to 2 8awg (1 to ur current amp and then 1 to ur upcomming amp)
