plead guilty because what you did was wrong...and come into court high and drunk to show remorse for your actions. This is what I gather is the best advice from reading the 15 legal threads a week in here. YOU WERE WRONG, OWN UP TO IT. Forget due process!

^ plead guilty only after you had as many charges dropped/ammended as possible

last time i got arrested i got

1) dui - 7 months - 1 year license suspension

2) reckless driving - 5 points

3) disorderly conduct - fighting cops

4) pos of cds - pos of pot (controlled dangerous substance)

5) pos of cds in motor vehicle - 2 year license suspension

now in NJ if you get charged with a dui theres no changing that... unless it gets dropped completely but after my lawyer was done i got

1) dui - 7 months license loss

2) reckless changed to unsafe driving - 0 points

3) dropped completely no evidence

4) used my get out of jail free card - year probation - was let go after 4 months and nothing on my record

5) dropped completely

if i would of plead guilty the first day i would of lost my license at least 2 years 7 months.. would of had 5 more points... + a couple days jail

but i did have to pay like $2500 in fines.... + lawyer

this was on my birthday too lol

the case was in the car on campus, i didnt do anythign and either time i wasnt intoxicated. The car smelled bad from the night before, since i was transferring schools my friends decided to get a pretty big amount of weed maybe about 3/4 of an oz and we smoked it in the car the day before, so the car smelled and prob still does. I havent been in trouble for anything like this before. Im not worried to much bout the weed charges thy are both minor misdemeanors while the other ones are M1s for the alcohol. And yea i for sure learned a lesson from this and prob will never smoke weed again or if i do go no where near a car. And honestly if i was smoking when the cop pulled me over i would of looked stoned or eyes would of been red. He didnt even ask if we were smoking just asked if there was stuff in the car. I actaully had not smoked weed that entire day. The cop didnt even give me a field test or anything

First, you must have done something wrong in order to get pulled over. Second, I'll bet that you hit the weed again soon (if you didn't do it already this morning)...
You won't learn your lesson until you spend time in jail.

i told a cop i'd slap the shit out of him if he wasnt wearing that uniform and i didnt even get in trouble =)

- but that was only after he said to me "if i wasnt on camera right now i'd punch you in the face" while i was handcuffed to a chair + just blew a .20

I never said that, but he won't learn his lesson until he does spend time in jail or pay a shit load of fines.

Get a lawyer. He could probably convince the judge that what was left in the car was leftover from when you got searched before. Just plead guilty and do your negotiating post trial. You will probably get N/A classes. They probably won't even bother with probation since you are a college kid that just did some stupid stuff. Unless you live in Texas, then good luck.

Please tell us the whole story.
Dogs dont come out unless you refuse to let them search the car. Or if you will not allow them access to a certain area of the car. Do you frequent suspicious neighborhoods or something? If you are going to tell us the story, please tell us the whole thing.

THis is how it went i believe.

you...........Uhm why am i being pulled over?

you......I don't have it.

cop...... Step out of the car.

you......what did I do?

cop.....get out of the car.

you......I didnt do anything

cop.......well if you didnt do anything you don't mind if i search

you.....ok

*cop...... Is that pot i smell?

You..... nope

cop.... do you have dope in the car?

you......hell no.

cop..... I'm gonna contact the K-9 unit

you....****

cop.......What's this??? A roach? you had me go through all of this for a lil piece of weed? You're under arrest. Get your dumb *** in the car. 2 times in 2 nights? May God have mercy on your ***.

you just have bad luck. I get guns drawn on my car because of the tinted windows all of the time. Never once got asked to get out of my car. There has to be something on your record. A warrant, an arrest for this same thing or something.

Regardless, you won't get anything but a slap on the wrist, this being your first offense. If you are in school, and have a job, I'll bet you $100 nothing will come of it, probably not even probation. Possibly a Stet Docket, PBJ, or Null Pros, and a hand full of community service hours. The worst part will be the $. Hopefully you have parents to bail you out on this one, but expect to pay $400-800 for a lawyer, and the fines associated with your tickets once convicted. Just don't do it again. I never carry non-disposable smoking devices in my car. I wanna go for a smoke run, I just roll a joint that I can eat if I'm ever pulled over. Drinking and driving is a no brainer. I'll admit, I still do it on occasion, but its always short distances, familiar surroundings, and I NEVER have an open container in my car. I'm well aware of the consequences. Leave a crack in your windows so it will air out every once in a while. Hopefully this will be your wakeup call. Just realize cops are not your friends. They are in the buisness for the fame of it and the adrenaline rush, so expect them to lie, cheat, and do just about every underhanded thing in the book to get you. Best thing you can do is know your rights, and exercise them confidently and intelligently, in addition to being more responsible.

Oh...Theres also a good chance a few of the tickets will be dropped in court, and only the most serious tickets(if you call these offenses serious) will be charged.

yes it is. have you ever tried to split 3/4oz with only a few people? thats a lot of weed..

be safer next time. use heavy duty bags and find better hiding spots. keep alcohol under seats at least so it cant be seen.

just slow down and thing and plan out stuff next time.
