AUX cable in Alpine HU problem

Hello, I'm new to this forum

I got an AUX cable for my Alpine CDA-9851 headunit the other day. It's the Ai-Net interface on one end and a typical 3.5mm stereo jack on the other.

Plugged it in, connected my iPod and immediately noticed a problem. It's extremely quiet. Sound quality is okay, stereo is there, but very very quiet.

Then by accident I touched the metal case of my iPod and as soon as I touched it - the sound became properly loud.

Sounds like a grounding issue, but I haven't had any other problems with the HU so far. Isn't it already grounded? Any ideas how to fix this problem?

They are. But, after using sort of them, i think best way is to root phone and do some real system modifications with Viper.

No make or model number on it? Do you have an exact picture of the rear and all its glory?
