I searched through a bunch of threads and found a lot of them were just about how much the subs can handle, how to get loud, etc... I'm looking at buying an HDC3 10 locally off a forum member on here and was just curious of what you guys thought as overall SQ of the Audioque 10's or any for that matter. Obviously what sounds good to one person may not sound good to another but I'd like to get an overall perspective on them. I've owned the SDC2.5 15's but didn't really get to mess with them much so I can't really judge. Thanks guys!

Friend had a pair of HDC3 10s in the single cab of his GMC Serria, right behind the seat, and honestly, I was really suprised, they hammered of course, but they sounded great too, just clean and loud. He had no problems hitting lows either. I was running a single Soundsplinter RL-P 15" tuned to 28hz in the trunk of my Crown Vic, and his 10s would drop just as well as my 15" tuned low. AQs are just nice subs all the way around.

I installed a 15"hdc3 for a friend and he likes it a lot, his friends say it's the best sounding 15 they've heard lol

but they are really nice subs, will get loud and low and sound great while doing it.

That's good to know, exactly what I was wondering. What did he have them tuned at? I've had DD's and AQ's tuned to 40hz but my last setup of 1508's I had tuned to 35hz and loved it.

Good to know man. I'll be putting an Orion xtr pro 1000 on it, it's my new favorite amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, should sound clean.

The coppers sound a lot better, and if you want it to sound more like a normal sub than a dd then give it a normal sub box with like 13-14 inches port area per cube. I had two copper hdc310s and they sounded a lot better almost louder to the ear with a 2ft box 6 inch aero = 12 inches per cube rather than my first 3ft box with 8"aero =16 inches per cube. I also only had 1k each going to them. WIth the big port area boxes they tend to sound good at full tilt but low volumes its just a puff of air you feel but cant hear. OVerall they can sound great if you want or get real loud on the meter if you want.

ive herd all the sizes of aqs in copper and alum and ill admit the coppers do sound a lil better overall they get low hit the right notes and sound good. persoally i think my buddies 10's sound better then my 18 but i have too much power on it.

His were tuned rather low, 33hz, which I wouldnt recommend, as his lows were trememdous, however, it really fell off on the upper end. After he trimed his areo ports down and brought the tuning up to 38hz, he seemed to like it better. I personally would suggest 35hz for a daily setup with them. Im curious about the 1508s, ive been thinking about doing a 6th order bandpass through the rear arm rest of the Crown Vic on and off for a while now with them, but wasnt sure it was going to be enough output for me. They are beastly subs though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

You have no idea, I loved that setup, I would have went with (2) but at the time, could not find another D4 sub to match the one I had used //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
