People are always so quick to rag on audiobahn, for three reasons i've found:
1. They've never heard one properly installed.
2. They don't realize that it's a F*CKING SPL WOOFER NOT AN SQ WOOFER.
3. They're pissed off because they paid twice as much for a woofer that's not as loud.
There is nothing wrong with audiobahn. I've owned or installed almost every driver they've made in the past three years, and never had a single problem with one of them (mechanically speaking). You'd think after three years and more than two dozen installs, i'd have seen one of those "faulty plastic connector rings" everyone is so quick to talk about.....
I will, however admit that audiobahn likes to overrate their drivers, probably for the sake of sales. For example, my 1200Q (they rate it at 700w) will take between 1000-1400w RMS for short periods (competitions) without any problems what-so-ever, but if you give it 700 or 800w RMS for a week of normal use, it will start smelling like it's cooking (not damaging it, just that smell that lets you know you'd better shut it off for a while). I advise anyone who gets an audiobahn sub to simply buy an amp that's about 100w less than the suggested RMS. You can barely tell the difference, and your sub will last a lot longer.
