Ask a guy starting his second semester of law school today anything

if you do really well 1st year, they usually give you a scholarship to try to keep you from transferring. That is what I am hoping to pull off, I really busted my *** 1st semester so I will find out very soon once grades come out if it paid off. Everyone busts their *** in law school, but I actually practiced tests instead of just sitting reading books like a lot of other students do, so I guess we will see.
Do they make you quit your jobs and work? Our PhD students can't have a second job if they accept the scholarship.

but still Law school is the EASIEST doctoral degree to get... sorry if you dont like us saying that, but it is true.
procedurally, i would agree, but the stuff we do is not easy at all and it consumes 100% of your time, even though I only have about 2 classes a day, I barely have time to eat and go to the gym. I don't think substantively it is the easiest.

I've been thinking i want to go to grad school in another country, like Denmark, but i don't think i will be able to fund it.

after reviewing flip's data i would like to see the source is1pimp is quoting where he will start out at $80K.
Do you know where I quoted mine? I could have just made it up...

based upon your answers to the simple law questions you were asked in the beginning of this thread, I have serious doubts about the rigor of your program compared to other PhD programs.

What do you think? I was just guessing based on the fees charged and whatnot. It's hard stuff...those M&A economists and financial anaylsts work crazy hours for pretty much nothing.
I was reading about a guy that did M&A work for Merril who worked 80 hour weeks for $40k in NYC. But if he was the best of the best...the money would pour in.
Without a doubt the highest paid lawyers are those who represent plaintiffs. That is, however, absolutely not to say that all plaintiffs' attorney make huuge amounts of money.

there are a lot of different law schools, some awesome, some incredibily shitty. The shitty ones will have you with starting salaries of like 30-40k, if you can even get a job. the top schools will have an average of 120k or above. I go to a top 100 school, which is not a top school but it's a good school and a major well known university. The 80k is just what my school posts as the average starting salary for grads of THIS school. Basically half of the law schools in the country (probably more) are pretty shitty.

Although not your cup of tea, many people suggest it for MBAs. They don't have to compete with Indians. However, I am curious about the political leanings of the professors. I doubt Milton Friedman would be teaching there.

because I don't remember them? Are you a law student?
