Starting an audio system

I am pretty new to car audio and I am not sure where to start and what to get first. I already have the subs they aren’t installed they are just sitting at the moment. I installed aftermarket door speakers in my car I know are going to need an amplifier at some point. I have a stock head unit.
But I’m not sure if I should get a new head unit first and then installed the subs and amp. Also I’m not sure if I should try and run my door speakers and subs on the same amount of or get 2 amps to run the subs and speakers separately.
Can anyone help me out and give me some tips

Depending on the subs and number of door speakers...a 5 channel amp would simplify the intall a bit.

But like Pop said...more info would definitely help

If you are buying the components one at a time, def get the headunit first. If you want to wire up your amp to your factory unit now, you'll have to worry about tapping wires to send signal to the amp instead of just running RCAs from the headunit which is the best way.

Plus you'll be able to reap the benefits of having a aftermarket head unit so your can dial in the door speakers to your liking with the options the aftermarket unit provides until you get your subwoofer amp to fill in the bass.
