Ask a guy starting his second semester of law school today anything

Okay then, give us the holding in McCulloch v. Maryland.
lol, I absolutely did that case last semester but I completely forgot the holding. After finals first semester, I did a mental dump and forgot all the cases basically. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

This fundamental case established the following two principles:

that the Constitution grants to Congress implied powers for implementing the Constitution's express powers, in order to create a functional national government, and

that state action may not impede valid constitutional exercises of power by the Federal government.

10th amendment.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i thought we could ask you anything? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Fine example the difference between passing the class and learning the material. I wonder if they test people like that when they apply for jobs.

When I interviewed at a hedge fund, they asked several finance questions during the interview like it was a test. I did well until I told them how much I wanted.

yes, technically I said you can ask me anything, but I did not say I would be able to answer "anything" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

law school exams are all hypothetical scenarios where you have to spot all the legal issues and discuss. If you pass the class and get a good grade, you definitely know all your stuff. However law school is not like college, no one is just looking to pass, people want A's.

how much do lawyers make
I'd suppose it depends on the type of law. There is a guy that fight DUI cases, I don't think he makes as much as those who represent high quality clients.

I think corporate law in the M&A field probably make the most. But they probably work the most hours.
