Tried this in the electrical forum but no luck,
Just installed new MTX amp, BNIB...
check that amp works: power and ground cable connected, turn on lead connected, amp light turns on when key is turned on signaling that amp powers on...
problem: when i turn ignition off and try to connect the sub, seems like there's power in the speaker wires even tho the amp is off...
the sub exerts (pushes up) when i connect both wires to the sub, and it stays up...and if i let the speaker wires touch each other, they spark...
isn't this not suppose to happen unless the amp is on?
what can i do? any way to trouble shoot this? i'm at work so just trying to get some ideas for later...
thanks
