Are there counterfeit amps out there?

I just ordered a RF T1500-1bdcp and now I'm concerned. The eBay store is out of Florida but tracking shows it shipped from Brooklyn,NY. The most worrysome part is they said it is warrantied through them and not RF! If there was any problem I had to ship it to them only. Sounds shady to me. Anyone bought From these guys?

I almost bought from that guy. I asked him if I could pick it up instead of shipping it and he said they only ship. If you are that concerned, when you get the amp, call RF with the serial number and ask them to verify that its authentic. It should come with a birthsheet. I think you'll be fine though. There's a lot of sellers on eBay that aren't authorized RF sellers that sell amps at map pricing. They just under cut each other. I've tracked that exact amp for months now and $450 is a fair price from an unauthorized seller. I bought mine off ebay and it works fine.

Didn't Justonemoreamp on ebay used to do something like that?
Anyway, why not get a few guys together that have been burned by him and plan a surprise party for him next time he posts something?

This lol. Most I would pay for 1500w is like $300 but that's just me...
Yeah I agree that $300 would of been better for 1500w but I wanted one new not refurbished, otherwise I could of picked up a used or refurb for less.

Good Idea on the Ser. # Because if it is legit I don't want to break the warr. seal on the bottom cover if its not needed.

I had my hands on a counterfeit Alpine amp -- it has weights in it to seem heavier. Externally it was a great reproduction.
Thats the scary part. A good counterfeit is nearly impossible to spot even with a real one sitting next to it.

Too much rf nuthugging in thread yall need to wise up
Not nuthugging any brand. Question was are there counterfeit amps out there? I asked because I just bought a RF (new) from a non-authorized dealer for the first time. All others were used or from local shops.

Just a lil paranoid of the gray market. That goes for lots of things not just car audio. I am sure my new amp will be fine, but if it's not I will post about it for sure.
