What do you mean by CEA compliant? Do you mean that those manufacturers haven't submitted products/test results for compliance certification or do you mean their products don't meet the requirements for certification?^^THAT means nothing. Sundown, DC, DD, American Bass, Audio/Soundqubed etc. None of those are CEA Compliant and there are next to no HFI amps in the same league as anyone of those i named. Some of the older HFI amps where pretty good, but even the BRZ1700.1 metioned in this thread, tho its the best choice he had listed, it still will not do rated clean, but will get close.
im really surprised that no one caught this error in this statement. yal are slipping lol
My bad i just re~read my post and i apologize if that came across as a smart "assed" comment. But mainly the CEA is just a 4ohm power test requirement. Meaning as long as it does the amount of power its rated it 4ohms thens CEA compliant. What do you mean by CEA compliant? It's important to understand that not everyone is a bass nerd like you and I and it's important for those who aren't that they have some benchmark by which to compare mainstream products. CEA certification provides that benchmark to those who aren't as knowledgeable as us and it serves a purpose.
You and I don't need that compliance cert to choose an amp but most people can benefit from it, because they don't eat sleep and breath car audio like us.
Mainstream manufacturers are beginning to understand this and in the end, it's a good thing for the less informed consumer who doesn't know about Sundown, Digital Designs, DC Audio, et al.
No worries. ;-)My bad i just re~read my post and i apologize if that came across as a smart "assed" comment. But mainly the CEA is just a 4ohm power test requirement. Meaning as long as it does the amount of power its rated it 4ohms thens CEA compliant.
I was the same way before i understood stood. And i dont eat sleep and breath bass. I just learned as time has went on. Im a budget type guy i dont like to over spend on the expensive companys.
But i dont want to appear as being a di(k because there is already WAY to many of those on here. I really try to help anyway i can with the newer to car audio people. So if it seemed that way i apologize.
i mean i have RCA cables from walmart ran and have never had a issue if that answer's you question. i myself am unsure of the difference between cheaper and more expensive RCA's will make. Im sure some one will chime in but ive been using these for a couple of years with out problemsFor the RCA cables to run from the dash to the amp, do they have to be some high quality wire?
