Anybody have opinions on wiring diagram?

djman, that makes no seance to have it fused at both ends. THE SAME CURRENT FLOWS THROUGH THE ENTIRE CIRCUIT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. So why would you fuse it at both ends?

The distance between the 2 batts in the back would be about 8 inches for power, 6-10 inches on ground. As far as cable goes, the new stinger expert series is like 8 bucks/foot, but sounddomain had a special for 4/foot with free shipping, so i bought 12 feet of that for my big 3 and accessory. As far as expert series wire, they claim there is no resistance in the wire.

4.99 a foot. and if you tried it you would love it. Aslo, with the fusing, if you look at his diagram, hes already got the third battery(the second one in tha back) unfused. Thats why I said, he should either move it over or get rid of it. If it were me I would moun the two batteries side by side so the piece of cable would be like 6 inches long, and they would both be held in by a wooden enclosure. If they were gonna have any distance between them, then yes I would fuse it.

my welding wire works for me. no way in hell would i pay $5 for that.

Ok ok, sooo. Say I do throw the HC800 out of the picture. What should I do to the HC2400? Fuse 200 amps before and 300 amps after to the colossus? On all these pics I see of multiple batt installs, I never see fuseholders in between batteries.
If the batteries are together and there's NO WAY the + wire can touch anything else, cool.

Fuse the WIRE CAPACITY. Why 200A???

the + wire will pull current all the way up it, not just from the last batt. in line.

I have REAL short power runs from my battery and run them directly into the amps, no fuses.

if you get a short, then you will be drawing excessive current from the battery that isn't fused

If there is trouble(short) between EITHER battery, I'D want a fuse near each.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ok.. thought about it for a second... If the wire falls out of fuse holder, then it could cause a direct short with one of the batteries. So I give it to you in that situation only. You get two failsafes instead of one.. I have never seen it happen.. but I suppose it could

Well I bought a pack of 10 200 amp fuses for 25 dollars and 300 amp fuses cost too much. Would there be any difference in output if I fused 200 amps instead of 300? Does anybody have any opinions on the amplifier fusing? Will I be ok with 300 amps or should I step up and do 400?

300 should be good for that amp.. this si what I would do. People will suggest otherewise so please dont flame me.. this is IMO.

250A to the Alt. (if you can get one that matches the alt do it)

400A on the wire from front to back(if your mid and high amp needs more then 100A adjust up)

400A betweent the two batteries in back(only if there is a distance big enough between them that they can short)

300A to your Amplifier.

Ground Each of the back batteries to the same point(you got double 0 in the front, why run one 0 guage in the back)

wire rub, idiots, cuts in the jacket. Fuses are there to keep your car from going up in flames. It would just **** for someone to jack his amp and then have his car burn up from the wire shorting out.

I used to run a circuit breaker under the hood too. I used to use it as a kill switch before I had batts in the back. After reading about how circuit breakers work, the FIRST TIME it popped from current draw, I put a fuse holder in. Anyone want it?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thank you for edjumacating me there.. didnt think about the wire rub somewhere in the middle.. or the idiots factor.

Now I will fues in the back also. I think I was pretty much right with everything else though

How can you fuse 400 amps? THe only way I know is a dual ANL fuse holder which are like 55 bucks. I don't want to spend over 100 on fuse holders....
