Which Batt or Batts?

I am running 2 viper 1200's and a viper 200.4. I have already upgraded my alt to 220A, 150 at idle, and batt under the hood to 1100A Fosgate/Exide Orbital and i have also done the big 3 in 2/0awg. However i am still having voltage drops at idle and i had my connections checked and they were all reading the same, front and amps. I had my batt and alt tested and both of them are doing what they are supposed to be so I asked a few people and they said i needed an extra batt. The prob is that the batt can only be 7" deep or wide. I have it narrowed down to a Stinger 1700, a SVR 80-12, or 2 SVR 50-12's, one on each side of my box. Which would be best for me because i like to listen to my music sitting still sometimes and i do not want to screw up my electrical when my voltage drops to 10.5v. I am basicly trying to keep it around 12+v at idle while pounding my system.

well on a lot of ho alts you need to be at a certain rpm for it to work. anyways an extra battery will add another strain but it may help stabilize your voltage if your electrical system is up to the task while you are driving. obviously you'll need a deep cycle battery. they make small yellowtops for hondas you may want to look into, or you could just turn down the volume while you are stopped

I made a suggestion and offer on your last thread. In your case the SVR 80 and Stinger are close in specs, I would go with the one you can get at a better price. Two 50s would be great, they would give more power then a single of either.

Even smaller pulley //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

We kept putting smaller and smaller pulleys on mine, and kept getting more and more juice out if it. The one we have on it right now is so tiny it makes the alternator whine like a supercharger.

Okay after reading your post again I have another suggestion.... see if you can get a stator for your alternator that uses smaller windings. In my experience, alternators that use a thicker winding on the stator to get a higher amperage, experience far lower output at idle. Are you sure you are getting 150a at idle? I had an alternator that put out 220a under load, but at idle, it didn't do anything. We switched out that one for a 170a unit and I get lots of power at idle now.

Just an idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
