Any suggestions with 5K limit?

my old soundstream pca's had problem. the 2000ds.

loved it, then one day just decided to stop working. bought another one, had more trouble. bought another, had even more. now i stick to kicker amps.

and the Q is designed as an sq woofer, much like the xxx was. not that i would put them on the same level. was designed to be a like woofer but lesser of a caliber (thats my understanding). i know the btl 12s were having problems with tinsels being shoved through the cones..thats why i didnt buy one. i think the btls would be sloppy compared to the qs. but im extremely happy with my ssds with the copper coils. i had my old set with the flatwinds 1200wrms with no trouble. alittle coil smell when i got on it for a good amount of time, but that was it.

For what it seems like your trying to accomplish Type Rs arent going to be the trick. I havent been very impressed with the numbers I have seen them put up at SPL comps around here. You prolly noticed from my last post that I am a pretty big Memphis fan for SPL. Their products are made to take in a beating and dish out nice lows. I hav always been impressed with the Memphis subs way more than the Type Rs(no offense to anyone, just my opinion). I currently run 2 JL 500/1 amps that push my Memphis M3s pretty hard (147.8 on TL), so i can only imagine what 2 MOJOs would do wit 4k of power.

3 subs will put a weird impedance load on your amp

better to stay with an even number of subs if your gunna be running more than 1

wtf? i never said i was guna choose type Rs. i said im choosing RE XXX (06' version). i mentioned that i was guna beat 2 12" type R's.... and 4 12" pioneer premiers (3k watt ones).

for 5k and the equipment you're running you better do the install yourself because i can expect beyond a doubt if you brought it to some circuit city or the like you end up with about 5k of paperweights.

i agree with billabong but i wasnt goin to say anything. what you want to do is stupid. you might as well compare penis size with the guy with 4 12s if all your doin it for is to be louder. i honestly dont think you know what 145-15X really is. i dont think you are in the position to handle the kind of system you are wanting. if in fact you do have 5k to spend an you do get a system worth that much. you probably will end up blowing it the **** up just like galacticmonkey did. if you dont know who that is just search him. you should start out small an work your way up. im in the mid 140s with only 650 dollars. you dont need to spend 5k to be loud. but if you buy from a shop an let a shop do it for you then that 5k will dissapear very quickly. if you want to be loud, get 2 15 BLs give them 4-4.5 each tuned to 33-35hz give each about 1500 an you will be loud. louder than the guy with 4 12s an you will hold the title for having loudest car at your school.

we really dont mean to be making fun of you or anything..its just..thats a big system. lots of things can go wrong. sometimes its easier to keep it simple. i dont even WANT to run something that big because of the risk of everything effing up. and once one thing does..its a chain reaction it seems like. one thing goes wrong..causes everything else to go wrong.

no dont get me wrong here. i understand that all of you are trying to help me out by telling me that im guna F up n shit. i understand that perfectly. its just all of you are saying "that big of a system". what do you mean exactly by that? like spending 5K (that being the ''BIG'' system)... or having 2 12" XXXs?
