I wouldn't blame the kid for wanting a nice system. The XXX is an awesome sub that many would love to have. Let the kid do what he wants to do with his hard earn money. Just help him out.

if by hard earned you mean probably given by mom and dad..then ok. but anywho..if he was big into competition id say right on man, have at it. and give a generous suggestion. but doing it to be the loudest kid in the parking lot is extremely retarded for that amount of money. you dont have to spend even $700 for a nice complete system. for what he wants, and for what he wants to accomplish hes being ignorant and immature. any guy on here who knows anything about car audio will tell him hes attempting to swim in waters that are wwaayy too deep for him. im not bashing, im not dumping, im trying to save him money, time, and tons of frustration.

well i appreciate your concern. but there's no need for that. if i spend around 700 for a system its not guna b so great. i know ppl around here that spend anywhere from 500-1200 and the systems still sound OK, but not great. so therefore im willing to put my limit up to 5K... doesnt mean i might spend all 5K, just saying the limits up there and i'd get some good suggestions. btw... this system wouldnt be just to be the loudest kid on da parkin lot.... i'll b a daily drive, and a competitor with the ppl that live around my area.

4 Fi Q 10's each in 1.5-1.8ft^3 to 33hz off 2 zx2500.1s find some nice clarion mids or something of the such off a kx650.4 with an alpine indash up front. knu or hyperflex 1/0 to the amps with a distro on one rung shootin some 4ga to the 650.4, with some 10ga (i use 8..but its personal preference) between your woofers. 2 yellowtops in the trunk with another under the hood, big 3, with a big (or 2nd) alt.

jeez, and im the loudest kid at school sporting 2 12" kicker cvr's and a hifonics 1200 amp to both of them putting out 600wrms to each woofer

and go with the fi btl for the win, i have a Q as well and love it, the btl im sure is a great driver as well

2 15" RE XXXs

8 cu ft. ported box tuned at 36 hz

couple of yellow tops

(just need suggestions on the mids and highs)

hows that sound?
