want to be the loudest person on the school parking lot with the cleanest bass.

the limit is 5K..... and i have about 10 cu ft. trunk (1999 Buick Riviera).

i was thinking of getting 2 12" RE XXX's in an 8.5 cu ft ported box with 2 US Amps MD-3d to each of the subs. and i'd upgrade my electrical system, and have a capacitor with couple yellow tops?!?!

thats the system thats on my mind at this point. now this is when you come in.... tell me what you think about that and give me a different suggestion. THANK YOU ALL SOOOO MUCH //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can do better than 2 XXX 12's.

If any of the SPL jerks decides to be nice for once maybe they'll help you out with the woofer selection. I'm sure they'll mention Fi BTL 15s/18s and RE MT 15s. Those are the more common drivers I see.

naw bro thats when u get me wrong.... i will use 5K on the system. lol. but in case i dont thats when i use the other couple grand or so for new 22" rims =D

yea i was also thinking about the FI BTL's but not sure on those. never really heard them in real life. you think one 15" BTL would be louder and better?

Nope. If you want to use 10 cubes, go with 2 15s in a 8 cube net box. If you want to be loud, ditch the XXXs and go with SXs or MTs from RE, or something else, maybe Digital Designs 3515s or 9515s (website ddaudio.com). If you want to use that much power (4 US Amps MD3Ds) you will need 9515s or MTs to handle it, a High Output alternator to supply current, no cap and three or four yellow tops. You will need multiple runs of Kicker Hyperflex if you can find it or KnuKonceptz Kolossus 1/0 wire.

However, all of this is not necessary to be the loudest kid in the parking lot, unless you park at db drag/isaca/meca competition events.

so i've heard alot of the MTs and SXs but i also heard alot more about the XXX. i heard it can handle up to 5K watts. the XXX is a beast lol
mt can generally handle more power than the xxx //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Nah, an old XXX will handle 2kw and a new XXX will handle 2.5kw. The XXX is the SQL sub. The SX and MT are geared more towards SPL, with the MT having much higher power handling. The MT will take 5kw (but probably not on a daily basis) and an XXX will blow the **** up on 5kw.

Do some more research. Look through the thread where people have posted their SPL scores and see what they have been using. If you want to be loud, look at setups that hit 145 dBs or higher at the dash and look into that equipment.

sounds good. so you would suggest 2 12" MTs to be very loud?!?! but would they be able to beat 4 12" pioneer premiers (the 3000 watt ones)?! my goal is to beat that system in the parking lot. and 2 12" type R's

let me ask you, are you wanting straight LOUD or do you still want some level of musicality?

im guessing you still want some level of musicality.

heres my setup for you:

2 DD9515G's ( 1300 )

2 autotek MM4000.1's ( 1300 )

enclosure materials ( 150 )

Knu 1/0 wiring ( 200 )

HO alty (400)

3 Kinetik HC2400's (850)

Pioneer premier HU (300)

2 pair rainbow SLC 265 (520)

Kicker sx900.4 (450)

mids/highs wire kit (150)

thats 5K...ish
