Any suggestions with 5K limit?

no dont get me wrong here. i understand that all of you are trying to help me out by telling me that im guna F up n shit. i understand that perfectly. its just all of you are saying "that big of a system". what do you mean exactly by that? like spending 5K (that being the ''BIG'' system)... or having 2 12" XXXs?
its alot of power. and its like..hm. bass is exponential. the pressures and whatnot. its hard to explain. you dont have to hit 150db to be heard down the road..i think for you, 2000w will more than satisfy you. we just think your going for overkill thats all.

cuz i've seen threads when ppl posted sayin that there is no FI website... and if there is then its fake. and ppl are all shocked that FI even has a site.
ficaraudio.com

its a big joke on the forum cuz its obvious and we just make fun of the people who dont know it cuz it was a huge forum boner. you had to be here when it all started

hmm.... i understand you. but i have 2 questions...

1. whats Fi's website?

2. someone posted a reply on my thread about a sub called "super heavyweight"... does anyone know anything about this sub?

dont bother with any of that. check out fi's website, i posted it in one of my previous posts.

but all my prevous setups have been 12w7's, solox 12's, RE MT 12's..and comming off all that my little ssd 10s are my favorite. clarity like a mother, and everyone that hears them thinks im runnin 15's. hell, i posted up better numbers with my 2 10s in 2.6ft^3 than a guy did with a walled off silverado runnin 6 15's. and i havent done any electrical upgrades or nothin like any of that. its all in how you design your system. if you want huge (for highschool) if you pick up a 2000d (around the $350-$450 range) youll be the big boy on the block. find some 12s or 15s if you wanna be a hardass, and youll be loudest guaranteed. just cuz you have subs in the biggest size, or the most amps with the most watts doesnt mean youll be the loudest. trust us.

ok so let me get this straight BILLABONGCR.... if i get 2 12" BLs in a 7 cu ft. ported box tuned at like 36 hz i'd b picking up the lows and gettin louder than 4 pioneers? and on the website it says that the BL is 1000 RMS. but whats the peak? and lets say i get 2 of those... thats 2000 RMS. there are alot of nice amps out there.... just cant seem to find a reliable one. i looked on USAMPS.COM and i didnt find one for 2000 @ 1 ohm. it goes up to 1500 @ 1 ohm. so what kinda amp would u recomend for each?

i like kicker amps. theyve always been reliable to me. plus they are underrated..so they actually put out more power than they say they do. i had an old kx2500.1 that put out 2960w rms. they come with birthsheets that tell you how much they actually put out. but the options for amps are endless. look around, look in the classifieds. find one that fits the power you what to run at the ohm you need for the price you want. buy your amp first before your subs, and depending on whether its 1 or 2 ohm stable, order your subs with coils to match the ohms. 1 ohm isnt louder than 2 ohm or anything like that, so it doesnt matter what you run it. the amp determines what ohm it needs to be to be stable, and companies offer coils in multiple configs to match.

if your running a clean signal, you can feed more than the rms to the subs. IF you know what your doing and how to control it. i ran 1200wrms to my old subs that were rated at 800wrms. but i did it clean. you dont crank the gains up on your amp and headunit..thats not good. thats how you blow crap up.

its all about doing your homework. you really need to take a few hours a day over the next few weeks browsing the forum reading up on how-to's and talking to alot of the pros on here and everyone will guide you through their experiences. read up on pros and cons of different equipment, ask questions, LOOK FOR ANSWERS. theres a seach feature, use it. if its been asked on here, itll come up. read up on different companies. youll quickly learn who the smart people are on here, dont be afraid to pm them with any questions. dont come out saying i wanna be the loudest kid in the parkinglot im have 5 grand make me loud..they will pretty much say look kid up yours, but ask them to help you they will be more than happy. just look around, learn.

and remember..the equipment you buy is 10% of the system. 90% is the box and install. you can have the best equipment in the world, but if you have it in a crappy box..it does you no good.

haha yes i understand exactly where ur commin from on that. but im new here and i've been hearing ppl say "PM" me.... whats that mean? and how do i do it?

and i looked up the BL on youtube and came up on this video...

and thats only 1. lol wow. im speechless. lol.
would u recomend 2 12s... or 15s? lol

pm is private message. click on the persons name, a little menu will come up, one says private message the user click it and an email type deal will come up.

yeah, you dont have to spends massive amounts of cash to be loud. just read up and ask questions. find a good box designer..youll be loud. you may even want to consider running a 1 sub setup. if its wow factor your looking for..maybe explore the 18 inch route? an 18 Q with 13-1400wrms would do nicely..or a BL 18 with 1800-2k.

its personal preference..how much space you have, what kinda sound you want. i like 10s, my 12s were groundpounders for sure.

but im goin to bed. if you have any further questions..shoot me a pm. or anyone else on here with reasonable knowledge. ill try to help out best i can, but compared to most other people on here..i dont know shit. if nothing else, i can point you in the direction to someone who does know.

ohhhhhh haha. its so obvious and i couldnt figure that out haha. but i'll keep this thread running for sure. i just need to go get some sleep for work. but thank you all today... especially BILLABONGCR.
