Any one have experience with hoppin up V8's.

Explorers have the GT40P heads which are shitty. Im going to use my stock heads and re-do them, Im getting a comp cam kit with the double roller timing chain and springs and retainers and everything. I dont know what im going to do about pistons but i might actually bore it. Im going to get my dad to talk to his guy this week about it.

Hmmm the turbo makes the plot thicken. I was going to get my stepdad to port the heads but he doesnt have a flow bench yet so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

what is your budget and what are your goals? if you are using a completely stock bottom end that is going to limit you to around 500hp but I am sure that is plenty...

I wanna stay $1K or under for motor alone, ill still have to buy shit for the car itself ( lowering springs, interior pieces, shift kit, paint ) I would like atleast 400HP but i would be happy with 350ish. I want something with a little get up and go, she'll be my weekend hotrod.

stroker kits are a good choice but then you'd have to do some top end and cam work as well so your budget would probably double.

I got my 347 stroker kit and my 408W stroker kit from fordstrokers.com and everything was PERFECT, great customer service and fast shipping too. I know you can get a budget (cast/hyper pistons, cast crank, I-beam rods etc...) for around $700 shipped. then $150~ for a cam kit from Summit but then you'd need top end work. intake, heads EFI/carb and then of course headers and exhaust so kiss the budget goodbye.

I'd say for power on the "cheap" boost. you can get 400HP plus out of a stock 351W longblock on boost. You could do it for under $1K as well. I sent you a couple options via PM, an N/A 400HP~ build and a boosted 400hp~ build, both around your $1K budget.
