Any one have experience with hoppin up V8's.

i lost your number hahaha. PM me.
How did 3.73's do, this car would see a little highway driving so i want a friendly but impressive gear ratio.
bout 10 MPG...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif hopefully the new motor and 6 speed ****** will be seing about 15-17..

but the gears, they would pin you to the **** seat, would wind out around 140-150 but a lot of that is in the transmission as well...you could easily sit stationary while spinning the tires through all 4 gears:laugh:

and for your driving you'd probably want 3.55s maybe one lower which is like 3.23s i think.. not sure with the low gear ratios..

Maybe 3.55's. Ill be running an Auto with a shift improver kit. The C6 will hopefully be nice or ill go to a built C4.
the c6 should do you fine with no more than 400 ponies.. don't get me wrong 400 WHP is an assload of power.. will be quicker than most cars on the road

Save your moeny and do it right the first time. You should have the block bored over for the new pistons, have the rotating assembly balanced and blueprinted. A decent port job on the stock heads and a decent hydraulic cam will make close to 400 hp. Dont expect to make a ton of dependable horsepower on a low budget. Go with a high rise dual plane intake to keep your bottom end, you'll disrupt the powerband of the cam with a single plane.

I wouldn't weld the spiders, especially on a street car.

I wouldn't bore the block unless it needed it, it's a waste of money.

Depending on the set-up, the 351w might not fit under the stock hood.

What about a 5.0, stock short block, stock h.o cam, gt40p heads, Explorer intake (tmoss ported lower), explorer 65mm tb, 1.7 rr. If you shop around around you can get that stuff CHEAP. Then have money left over for some supporting mods like gears, sub frame connectors, suspension work, and maybe a 100 shot.

That should put you in the low 12's, and you would have a solid/dependable car.

I can get a 600 Hp 302 for $1500 but i have never seen a 351W Mustang, i want to be different. If it doesnt make extreme horsepower i wont cry but i do want to get parts that all work together, i think i joined a mustang forum a while ago so ill see if i can find it.

dont have time to read it all right now but stay conservative with the cam. and trust me when i say this, the stock heads are your weak point, too big a cam and u will be wasting time and money. anything u can afford to do on the heads will give u the most gain. I just finished building a 351w with a c6 in a 83 f150
