Any one have experience with hoppin up V8's.

Im not boring it. Stock stroke and stock bore, i just wanna up the compression with a nice cam and a little headwork. a 351 in a 1993 mustang backed with a C6 will be decent anyway. This will be a daily driver.

 
What year is the mustang? What's your budget? Are you using the stock heads? Is it a roller block? Are you planning on running a stall converter? Carbed or FI? Are up planning on running a cowl hood?

Since your upping the compression I'm guessing your not using any power adders?

Its a 1993 mustang

Motor is a flat tappet 1989 F-150 351 Windsor

Budget is as cheap as possible while retaining quality ( I would love to stay under 1K in parts for the motor, the cheaper the better )

I will use stock heads with new springs, valves and all

I dont know if i need a stall converter, this will be a street car

I will convert the motor to Carb because i hate FI.

I will do a Cowl hood at some point.

And no power adders. I was thinking turbo but dont want to have that much more money added.

 
The guys on FordOnline.com know a lot about making the 351 do 462rwhp under $3500.

Which is pretty cheap. I was going to do up my 302 but it was going to be around $4-5k to get a little over 400hp.

Thanks, ill check that site out tomorrow and see what they can advise. Ive already found a cam and intake i like. I wont mind buying used in some things, but im finding new shit for right now to get an estimate.

 
I use to have a 351W bored to a 427 small block //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif as far as compression on a daily driver, I wouldn't recommend over 10:1.. throw a mild cam in it some 2.75" headers and call it a day

It wont be a daily driver, it will be more like a weekend hot rod. Mild, cheap and still will get down and dirty.
