400 is very doable with those motors for around 1000 or less probably

Im trying to save as much as possible. The gears in the back might get re-done but other then that, the driveline will most likely stay as stock as it can stay.

Ill still need money for paint, interior, body work and other stuffs.

Ive heard 8.8s can take around 600 HP stock.

you can run 500 whp through the stock rear end and drivetrain pretty easily.

just weld the rear end if you don't wanna fork out the money for an LSD... text me tomorrow i'll shoot you some advice... the 427 we had wasn't in a drag car, it was in a 69' mustang fastback with a shaker hood, 3.73 gears and a borg warner close ratio 4 speed. we're trying to swap it out to one of the new shelby GT500 motors, 550 HP fuel injected and super charged.. nom nom nom

well then i'd go with a street cam, 11.5:1 compression pistons, roller rockers, new crank, EFI conversion, and a sick EFI tune.
