Another Gain Setting Q

Alright, I just bought a dmm and set my gains using the tutorial method. I used at 60hz tone at -3 dbs. I set it so that i got the calculated 40v ( a little past half gain). Then I noticed that when I played other test tones 40, 45hz, etc; the meter would go past 40v more like 50. Is this ok or not?

uhh thats not entirely correct bassaddictj

the reason why a 60hz tone gives lower power than a 45hz tone is because the 60hz tone is closer to the crossover point... if you turn the LPx-over off you shouldn't have any difference in output between a 60hz and a 45hz... also keep in mind that not all tones are made at 0db, some clip, some are a -3 db... make sure all your tones are at the same volume level
