I like what ive read about these so far. My next build is going to be a 1k ish ported 10, and think these along with tweets and passive xovers.

How much am i looking at spending for xovers thatll handle 250 rms, and will this sound good?

Any door prep needed other than sound deadener and a spacer to get them to clear?

They use XBL^2 motor which sacrifices some efficiency for low distortion. This does help high extension but ideally you may consider some large format tweeters or even planar/ribbons that you can cross down somewhat low to blend. I use mine as dedicated midbass only. As far as what they "need" for enclosure, do what you can, but the more you make the mounting a sealed box the better.

Great performance for the money if you can fit the mounting depth.

I am running two pair in my doors and they are awesome midbass but wont do much above 2500hz so as hislps says your going to need tweeters that can play down that low. Currently I am using Massive ct2 silk domes and they are doing pretty good and sound great and get loud. I got them on another members recommendation and I really like them and they will do till I go 3way and add some 3 or 4 inch mids. *** already stated you really need some deep doors to mount them in and try to stiffen door too (i used a piece of angle iron and it got rid of alot of door flex) and a bunch of CLD vibration dampener because crossed over low they will make your doors rattle lol ! I dont know about the crossovers, I have always ran mine active.

Perfect. My next ? was going to be about needing midrange speakers. Thx

I would ? Why not if you have active Hu ?

Ok, dumb question. in a 3 way active setup using a sub, midbass, a smaller midrange, and tweeter, how would I set this up? Just run the small speakers through the xover and the sub straight from the hu?

My experience with active setups in non existent.
