amp wiring kit

I'm having a single 10" alpine dual ohm 500 watt rms sub installed with a 5 channel amp (rms 630-840) and the place i called said it would cost 60-100 for a wiring kit. Can I buy a good wiring kit online with everything I need cheaper than that?

Thats what I thought, is there a specific kit i would need for a 5 channel amp? i have no idea what to order but I want to make sure i get the right stuff with everything the shop needs to do the install.

Also does it matter what kind of vehicle I have (ford f150)

vehicle doesn't matter. depends on 5 channel amp and head unit. you just may need 1-3 sets of RCA depending on head unit and amp. outside of that just about any 4 gauge amp kit will do. the amp kit linked below should be just fine depending on amp and you may need to order 1 or 2 more sets of RCA depending on head unit.

Not all wiring kits are the same quality, and $60-100 for a good 4 ga kit with RCAs is about right. You'll need 6 channels of RCAs unless you use high level inputs.

he may not need 6 channel of RCAs if his HU doesn't have 6 channel out or if the amp has an input selector. most 5 channel amps have atleast a 4 channel input option.

Usually the amp's specs tells you the gauge needed for it. I would make sure I go with a known brand, since some cheap ones give you more insulation than wire and it's not the actual gauge.

The best kit is the one you can put together yourself and select the items, maybe this thread can help regarding wire, the link posted above is a good manufacturer, you can add extra RCA .'s if needed
