amp wire question

I just bought a 2001 sebring and it had amp wires hooked up already. I have two mtx 4500's. I dont have an amp yet. The wire is 4 guage what would happen if I use that wire for an amp that is not as powerful.

nothing. now if you use an amp that is too powerful, and draws to much current that is where you run into problems.

It's gonna take a pretty big amp to overdraw 4ga. As long as it's only a single amp or two smaller amps you'll be fine with that wire.
